Anyone who has received a baby shower invitation that mentions "we are registered at Babies R' Us." and you have never been there yet....look out! It is an enormous store filled with nothing..I mean nothing but stuff for babies. There is a stroller aisle (yes, only strollers), high chair aisle, car seat aisle, portacrib aisle, baby bouncers aisle and I am not talking short aisle..I am talking Costco size aisles...Who would have thought that picking the "right" car seat would be like buying the car. There are soo many choices. That's not even addressing the thousands of sheets, blankets, comforters, doodad's that you simply cannot live without if you are to have a normal baby (yeah, right!). As a new parent it would be overwhelming to think that you really need all that stuff. You can spend all kinds of time in there browsing at all the very cute baby things and I'm sure that is what they want you to do. New parents have enough things to be stressed about without worrying about if they should really buy a blanket warmer or not . . . .We had a fun baby shower this weekend and I think the kids got alot of great things for the baby. To our guests that made the dreaded aisle walk...thank you :)

Use soap!
We drew a blank on what to get them. All sorts of shopping online only to come up with...but, what do they need?? So...be sure to pop us a note and tell us what they DIDN'T get and what they need...and we'll look into that.
Even online, Babies R Us is a psychotic experience. Sorry...but living overseas this long you just get used to the fact that there is no choice. If we see it, we buy it...period. Having 12 different choices in the type of dummy the kid is going to suck on is just, insane.
